Overview: Not a Minor Upgrade Year
The 2026 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando drew attention across the golf technology press for the depth of rangefinder innovation on display. PlayBetter, one of the leading U.S. golf tech retailers, described it as a year of "real breakthroughs" rather than incremental updates, calling the pace of change in the rangefinder category "borderline absurd."
Bushnell Tour V7 Shift
The biggest rangefinder story at the show from an established brand was Bushnell's Tour V7 Shift, which brought LINK-Enabled launch monitor connectivity — previously exclusive to the $599.99 Pro X3+ — down to a $399.99 mid-range model. The dual-color OLED display and Yardage Range Recall feature also debuted on this model.
Mileseey GPS Laser Breakthroughs
Mileseey, already the surprise winner of MyGolfSpy's 2025 Most Wanted competition, used the 2026 show to demonstrate further GPS-laser hybrid technology. The brand's growing footprint in the U.S. market — built on a reputation for premium optics and AI-assisted pin-seeking — drew heavy floor traffic, according to show observers.
Blue Tees and Par Breaker Ecosystems
Blue Tees debuted its Rainmaker launch monitor, Captain Pro, and Captain Air rangefinders as an integrated ecosystem where practice data flows directly into on-course club recommendations. Par Breaker, a newer entrant, introduced its Yard Sync rangefinder line (L10, L20, L30) with integration to its own Swing Pulse X10 launch monitor, offering similar connected functionality at price points ranging from $169.99 to $269.99.
The Overarching Trend
Every major 2026 show announcement pointed toward the same direction: rangefinders are no longer standalone tools. They are becoming nodes in a connected ecosystem linking practice data, on-course decisions, and performance tracking. The competitive price compression is also notable — features that cost $600 in 2024 are available in the $250–$400 range in 2026.
